samsungld220gOne of the worst parts about working on a laptop for an extended period at your desk is that the laptop tends to have a much smaller screen than your average desktop computer. Samsung offered some external LCDs aimed at laptop users in Korea earlier this year called the LD220 and LD190.

Today Samsung announced that the LD220G and the LD190N LCDs were available in America. The monitors are 22-inches and 19-inches respectively and have a stand that leans more like you find on a digital photo frame than your typical LCD. The 220G connects to the notebook via USB and has a built-in USB hub.

The USB hub allows the user to add more USB displays if they want to. The LD190N connects via a VGA cable. The 220G has 1080p resolution while the 190N has a resolution of 1360 x 768. Both monitors have 5ms response times, 250cd/m2 brightness, and 20000:1 dynamic contrast ratios. The 190N will sell for $149.99 and the 220G sells for $249.99.
