jvc3dlcd-sbThe future of home entertainment is 3D. 3D technology is now in most theaters around the country and people are getting more used to watching 3D movies that require glasses. The stage is set for 3D content to enter into the home arena as well.

JVC has announced a new 3D LCD monitor for the custom installation market called the GD-463D10 that claims to produce flicker-free 3D images. It does this by using an Xpol polarizing filter method that allows the use of passive filter glasses.

The display is compatible with side-by-side and line-by-line 3D formats and is only 1.5-inches thick. The Xpol filtering method allows left and right eye information to be constantly displayed so the glasses used don’t have to strobe to switch between left and right eye images. The display has two pair of passive glasses included and can be used as a normal 1080p monitor as well. The screen is available now for $9,153.
