Suzuki Neutron 701 MNI NetbookWhen you think Suzuki, you think motorcycles. This is a different Suzuki. They’ve created a new budget netbook dubbed the Neutron 701 MNI. It will make you so happy you’ll be doing the Neutron dance. It features a 7.1 inch display that also functions as a touchscreen.

The netbook works as a tablet PC and has a screen that swivels. Under the hood it has an Atom Z520 processor, up to 4GB of RAM, 3 USB ports, a VGA output, Express Card slot, WiFi at b/g speeds, Bluetooth, 1.3 Megapixl camera, 56k Modem for some reason and a 5 in 1 card reader.

Not bad at all, but the screen is too small.

    The screen is too small? I disagree! Although, I know most will agree with you… I have, in fact, been looking for a good replacement for my Toshiba Libretto, and two things I really didn’t want to compromise on is overall laptop size (meaning I want the same size or smaller) or resolution (The Libretto has a 7.2″ screen with 1280×768 resolution, and I love it). If this laptop has the high resolution, then this just might be the laptop for me (finally… I haven’t seen a “laptop for me” other than the Libretto for nearly 5 years… unless you count the UMID M1, but a total of 2 in 5 years? Really? ;_:)

    If this piques your interest — as it does mine — you may want to look at the Viliv S7 as well as the 3rd option.

    @Richard Lee
    I have looked at the S7, but I prefer a clamshell or convertible tablet styled netbooks with physical keyboards, which is why the UMID M1 appeals to me so much. Plus the fact that the M1 fits in most pockets easily.
