chimerakiller-sbI am a big PC gaming enthusiast and my gaming PC has more money in it than some people spend on their first cars. It’s worth it to me to get good frame rates and enjoy my hobby. The company has introduced AMD and Intel flavors of its slick Chimera Killer Special Edition gaming PC. Both versions of the system feature the Killer Xeno Pro gamign network card. The Intel machine sells for $1899 and features a Core i7 920 CPU, 6GB of RAM, an Asus P6T mainboard, and 750GB of storage. The machine also sports a pair of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275 video cards.

codmappackI really liked Call of Duty: World at War on the PC. I didn’t buy the game on the PS3 or Xbox, but it is available on those systems as well. One of the things I like about the CoD franchise is that you can count on new maps being offered to keep the game fresh.

Activision has announced that the third map pack for World at War is now available for download on the PS3 and the Xbox. The map pack sells for $9.99 on the PS3 or 800 MS Points on the Xbox 360.

doxie-sbI hate teaser campaigns and even if the campaign shows you what the device looks like and gives you some specs, but doesn’t come clean it’s a teaser in my book. A new document scanner called Doxie is being teased by its manufacturer.

The Doxie is set to launch in November and ahead of that launch, the company is giving us a bit of info on the product. The scanner is black with little pink hearts; virtually ensuring guys won’t want one. The device can scan full size documents, photos, receipts, and business cards.

Logitec LAN-W300N/R ultra slim wireless routerNot that it’s a competition or anything, but Logitec of Japan is now claiming the thinnest wireless router in the world. The LAN-W300N/R measures a sickly and anorexic 7mm at its thinnest part, while the widest part is a mere 24mm thick.

If you like your routers like supermodels, thin and sexy, the LAN-W300N/R also functions as an access point in your home or office. It’s too early to know if we will ever see it around these parts, but we hope so.

Alcatel Crystal AApparently the FCC has more information on the upcoming Alcatel Crystal A from TCT Mobile Limited. The Alcatel Crystal A has a somewhat different artistic design on the outside with several crystals thrown in for good measure.

We aren’t sure if they are real precious stones or just faux jobs. The features are pretty basic though. This oddball sports an integrated camera(unknown megapixel count), an integrated FM tuner, audio and video playback, a microSD memory card slot, Bluetooth connectivity and Java support.

Strapya offers up all of your favorite movie characters

Strapya offers up all of your favorite movie charactersStrapya is apparently aiming to defile every lovable movie character, with baby versions that are oh so adorable. Even I could take baby Rocky in the ring. Baby RoboCop will stop crime dead with cuteness overload. And baby Predator couldn’t possibly pull your spine out. He’s just too adorable.

Some others include Hannibal Lector, Edward Scissorhands, Beverly Hills Cop and even the diaper Don himself, the Godfather, who will make you an offer you can’t refuse…to clean up…in his diaper.

Microsoft’s Pressure-Sensitive Keyboard

Posted in Microsoft by Conner Flynn on August 6th, 2009

Right now it’s just a prototype, but Microsoft’s pressure-sensitive keyboard may just make typing more efficient. Think about it, what if font size could be changed just by applying a certain pressure. Typos could be reduced by gauging the pressure applied to simultaneously pressed keys in order to determine which one you intended to press. We see gaming potential too.

Microsoft will be showing it off at the User Interface Software and Technology conference in Canada this October. Students attending will be given a sample keyboard and asked to compete with one another in an effort to find applications for the technology.
