Battle Machines combine laser tag and RC toys |
Yeah, I really like remote controlled toys. I have always liked them since I was a kid and the only thing that has changed today is that my RC toys are more expensive. Show me a RC toy that also offers lasers and I am sold.
Jada Toys has announced a new line of RC vehicles called Battle Machines RC toys. The cars are 12-inches long and come in several different designs and three different vehicles. You can choose from a 2006 Mustang GT, 1969 Camaro SS, and a 1999 Chevy Silverado Dooley.
The vehicles can be had in single or twin packs and the cars feature laser tag and shields for Death Race-style play. The cars come in 27MHz and 49Mhz frequencies, each supporting three different vehicles for up to six vehicles at one time. The dual packs sell for $49.99 and single packs sell for $29.99.

I tried to purchase one of these at Walmart and they could not sell to me because there was some kind of recall..but would not explain any further.I have tried to look everyone to find something on this and cannot since I already have the double pack purchased for my son on Xmas.I don’t know if I should return?
I experienced the same thing at Walmart on the same day! I went to Target and asked them if they knew anything about a recall and they didn’t. They sold me 3 of the twin packs, one for each of my sons and their sons for Christmas! I’d like to know if there’s a problem with these things before Christmas.
We had the same issue at Walmart this morning. They would not sell us the cars, however three still on the shelves. We went to Target and bought a 2-pack. Walmart Manager says there is a toy recall, perhaps lead in the paint. All he’d say. No one at Target was aware of any recall. I’ve looked on the internet, even consumer reports and the fda sites, not recall listed. I am trying to contact the company (Jada) now. I have no idea- so glad Target sold us these, but again if there really is a recall, well…. Ugh.
Called JADA customer service and was told that yes there is an issue with Walmart stores, they hope that it is now resolved, she couldn’t disclose the information in regards to the “issue” with Walmart, but she would say that there is NO RECALL at this time. Target, Toys R Us, and Amazon has these cars and will sell them.
Hope this helps.
I intend on keeping the ones we bought. I will however go to the government toy recall list right before Christmas just to be sure that a recall has not been issued… and will probably call JADA again one more time… just to be sure.
yeah, we just tried @ wal-mart, too. ‘sale not allowed’, citing a recall. no explaination why though. my son was really looking forward to getting one this year for christmas. truthfully, i was too.
I had the samething happen when I cecked out on 12/15/09…. “sale not allowed”. The manager told me it was a recall. Once I told him I had already check and that there is no recall he changed his story. They had a sign out that said it was in their flyer for $39.00, but they could not honnor it, but we could by 2 singles for $20.00 each. (They did not have any singles to sell). I think it is because of the price and nothing else. I came home and ordered it online through Target not 15 minutes after leaving the Winslow, AZ Wal-Mart.
On the recall i went to buy another one @ walmart for my other nephew and was told it was due to poosible lead in the paint. When i called Jada toys the lady told me that it is being looked into right now and walmart did pull the items but i could buy it at other stores since it has not gotten the results back yet. I was then told by the lady of jada toys to contact them back after christmas to find out the results on the test. I did try to contact them today but either the line was always busy or no one would ever answer the phone.
