Samsung unveils new notebook and netbook systems |
With back to school shopping season upon us, most major computer makers are fast introducing new notebook and netbook models. You can bet with the poor economy many shoppers will be going with netbooks this year, but there are also several new notebooks from Samsung for those with a larger budget.
Samsung has unveiled a new series of notebook computers that include five new models in the X and R series lines as well as new N series netbooks. The new machines fit into different price ranges with the high-end X460 featuring a 14.1-inch screen, a 6-cell 2950mAh battery, and biometric security. The battery is the first 6-cell 2950mAh battery and promises 10 hours of runtime per charge.
The R420 and R470 have 14-inch screens and both have a watertight seal around the chassis to keep water out in the event of a spill. The new netbooks include the N120 and N310 with options for HSPA, WiMAX, WiBro and more than 10 hours of battery life. The netbooks also feature larger keyboards that are ergonomic.
