samsz1Lawmakers are looking into possible antitrust violations centering on exclusive deals that most of the major cellular makers offer with handset to get customers. The exclusive deals allegedly make it hard for small providers to compete.

For now, exclusives are still the norm and Samsung and T-Mobile have announced a couple new exclusive handsets called the Samsung Comeback and the Samsung Gravity 2. We have talked about the Comeback already, so I won’t focus on that handset other than to say T-Mobile will offer it for $129.99 with a new agreement and it is available now.

Starting in August the Gravity 2 will be available with a horizontal slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The device also has multiple messaging capability, a 2-megapixel camera with camcorder function, integrated MP3 player and up to 16GB of memory. Pricing is unknown at this time for the Gravity 2.
