boltbrowser-sbWhen it comes to browsing the Internet on a mobile phone, not all browsers are created equal. I hate the type of mobile browser that breaks a site out of its PC format and gives you a big long page of text and links to read.

The latest version of Bolt mobile called Beta3 launched and in the first 24 hours the new version was available the browser rendered over 1 million pages. According to the company behind the browser, it has been growing at a steady rate of 50% per month since it debuted in February.

sonyvaiownetbookWhen I was roaming the halls of CES in Las Vegas back in January I spied the Vaio P from Sony and while they wouldn’t call it a netbook, I know a netbook when I see one. The little machine was weird and had a price much higher than the typical user would spend for the performance the rig delivered.

Sony has finally announced a machine that they aren’t embarrassed to call a netbook; specifically the machine is the Sony Vaio W. Technically Sony calls it an “Internet book” but we know what Sony means.

Nintendo DS/Sony PSP arcade cabinet throws portability out the windowDid I miss something? I must have because I thought the whole idea of having portables was to, well have portability. You know, devices where you give up some graphics for the ability to play anywhere. So why would anyone want to make an arcade cabinet that plays DS/PSP games?

Just because they can. And I guess that’s good enough reason for any crazy mod. I may not understand why, but I gotta hand it to them, it’s unique. Check out a video below while I scratch and shake my head.

Rubik's Cube 360 goes on sale next weekRubik’s cube took the world by storm a few decades back. The man behind the cube is now ready to let another creation loose upon the world in the form of the spherical 360. Yes, he has gone as far as possible with cube puzzle technology and has now moved onto a round puzzle.

It’s a see-through sphere with domes on the outside. Within the main structure, there are two more spheres, with balls in the center. The colors of the balls match the little domes. You can already see how this thing will drive you nuts.

The Google-G0: How Android could take on the iPhone

Posted in Concepts by Conner Flynn on July 6th, 2009

The Google-G0: How Android could take on the iPhoneWe’re no stranger to shiny touchscreen phone concepts, but here’s one that we’d really love to see in production. It’s designed by Taiwan’s Tryi Yeh and called the Google-G0. It’s both a touchscreen phone and a slider, with four large navigation buttons for quick access to your email, web browsing and more. The buttons change to fit your needs, depending on what you’re currently doing. Speakers and a camera are on the back.

It’s really slick and sexy. With some interest features. This is the kind of thing that can givethe iPhone a run for it’s money. Apparently the functionality continues when you plug it into the charger. For instance the image of the dock makes it look like it will let you watch TV on your phone, or use your G0 like a remote.

Sony Ericsson Bao handset

Sony Ericsson Bao handsetI’m calling this new Sony Ericsson handset the preferred handset of Stealth fighter pilots since it seemingly has so many angles that it might evade radar. It reminds us the Nokia 7070 aside from the clamshell format. One thing is for sure, it stands out from the pack.

We don’t have much info on this one. Just that the Sony Ericsson Bao comes with a built-in camera. A launch date is still likely a long way off. I don’t know about you, but I like the angles.

Samsung XL2370 Finger-Slim LED monitorThe Samsung XL2370 boasts what Samsung calls a “finger-slim” design, with high-end features like a 2ms response time and 1080p resolution (1920×1080 pixels) as well as a 40% power savings. Samsung is calling it eco-friendly because it is lighter to transport and should require less materials to produce.

How well those claims work in the real world, we aren’t sure. This monitor will come out in Korea this month, then will make its way to the rest of the world at some point. No word if the US is on their list yet.

It’s not exactly a price cut, but it looks like Sony may be about to offer one of its best deals to date to PS3 customers, with some help from Best Buy. All for the usual price of $399.99. Not a price cut, but you get a lot more for your money. This bundle is supposedly set to go on sale as soon as next Sunday. Some of them have apparently already made their way into the stores’ back rooms.
