LED Illuminated Message Board

LED Illuminated Message BoardWhy didn’t we have this stuff when I was a kid? Sure, we had Etch A Sketch and Lite-Brite, but kids today have all kinds of cool stuff, like this LED Illuminated Message Board. It’s like a dry erase board. With the appropriate pens you can draw whatever you want on the white display.

After that just hit the switch and the whole thing lights up like a psychedelic chalkboard. That’s sure to get your message across. It can be written on over and over again and will display the colors red, blue, or green.

Posted in Palm by Conner Flynn on July 19th, 2009

There’s a select group of people living among us that make no sense at all. Like this guy, who is willing to endure a painful and permanent tattoo in order to win a Palm Pre. Hell, just buy the phone. It’s not nearly as painful and in a few years you’ll be on to the next big phone.

Obviously the dude wanted his fifteen minutes of fame. It looks more like 15 minutes of lame. This guy and the Zune guy need to get together and talk about their next project. They would make quite a team.

Wii CPR could save lives

Posted in Wii by Conner Flynn on July 19th, 2009

Wii CPR could save livesConventional CPR training is about to get an overhaul with the use of PCs and the Wii. Currently it’s a concept technology and it has been under development by the University of Alabama at Birmingham since the beginning of this year.

The idea is that when you push on ResusciAnne’s chest, the motion controlled joystick interprets it as correct or incorrect chest compressions and lets you know. A working prototype was created last Spring, and the American Heart Association has pledged $50,000 in grant money. The Wii CPR software could be available for download as early as this Fall. It would be an open source code so the user can program it to their own specifications.

Motorola bluetooth box has three days of talk timeAre you a talker? I mean a serious talker? Well feel free to talk away with the Motorola T215 Bluetooth car speakerphone, which boasts three days of talktime and was specially designed to work with other hands-free car kits.

It includes a 2W speaker with noise cancellation functionality. That should give you something to talk about. It’s a nice piece of tech, it’s just a shame that the design is so boring. Who knows, maybe the 1990′s styling will be hip again one day soon, but we doubt it.

DYA Cell Phone slides diagonally

Posted in Concepts by Conner Flynn on July 19th, 2009

DYA Cell Phone slides diagonallyHere’s a conceptual design that we haven’t seen before. The DYA phone concept has materialized from the future, with some interesting futuristic features. For one thing it’s got rounded bubble-type buttons that are easy to press, without having to look at them.

In back it’s coated with elastic paint that makes it pleasant to touch and reduces the chances that it will be damaged when dropped. Strangest of all, and maybe the coolest feature is the diagonal cut that makes it compact when not in use, but at the same time large enough to be used comfortably when you open it up to make or receive a call.
