rockband2-logo-sbMusic games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero are very popular and have proven to be a great way for record labels and bands to sell music to the public. Playable track sells for a while outpaced the sales of the normal music tracks for some groups.

Harmonix and MTV Games announced today that bands and record labels can now access the tools they need to turn music into playable tracks for Rock Band online. The new service is offered through the Rock Band Music Network Music Store.

To turn their music into playable tracks a membership to the Rock Band Network is required by the band or the label. Starting an open beta in late August the Creators.RockBand.com website will require a membership selling for $49.99 for four months or $99.99 for a full year. The one catch is that tracks have to be Xbox 360 exclusive for the first month they are available.
