samsung-logo-sbThere is a huge push in the enterprise computing and data center markets to move to more energy efficient and green servers. The push is not only because green computing is better for the environment, but also because saving power in the data center can mean huge money savings for companies.

Samsung has announced new RAM modules aimed at green computing in data center that are the world’s first 32GB DDR3 modules. The modules operate at 1.35V and have 20% greater throughput compared to 1.5V DDR3 modules.

The RAM is for next generation green servers and uses 4Gb DDRs modules. The 32GB RDIMM modules are made from 72 different 4Gb DDR3 chips using Samsung 50nm DRAM production. A row of nine 16Gb DDR3 modules are mounted on each side of the printed circuit boards for a total of 32GB.
