Panasonic DMP-B15 Portable Blu-ray player shipping this month, $800Panasonic has announced that their DMP-B15 portable Blu-ray player will be shipping this month for $800. It was first seen at CES. Yeah, that’s pretty pricey for a portable Blu-Ray player, but if you want the best at the highest price and find yourself on the road, the DMP-B15 will give you about 2.5 hours of entertainment on a single, with a crystal clear 8.9-inch WSVGA display.

For the price that you are paying, you’ll be glad to know that it also includes Panasonic’s VIERA CAST Internet accessibility and BD Live. Even an SD card slot.

Is that worth $800? You tell us. We think not.

  1. Jordan Says:

The only reason for having Blu-Ray is HD content. You can’t get HD on a screen this small which makes the product and the $800 price tag completely useless.

Buy a $100 portable DVD player with the same size screen and get the same experience + $700 to blow on movies.

I have this, the player is great and it is HD just not 1080p. It also has a network jack so I can plug it into my router and it will auto update the firmware. What I don’t like about it is the player has been out for a year and they still aren’t selling the 6hr battery, if you are on a long flight you would like to watch 2 movies also they aren’t selling the 3 hour batteries separately yet either. Lastly for Jordan, I’m not going to buy standard DVD versions of all my blu-rays just to have a cheap player, maybe if all you have is standard DVD maybe you’re not the right consumer for this product.
