Gefen Unveils 5.1 Surround-to-Stereo Signal Converter |
Gefen, the company known for their signal switchers and converters, has announced the GefenTV Digital Audio Decoder, which remixes 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround audio for stereo (L/R) outputs. What this means is that the unit lets any movie or television program broadcasting in 5.1 Dolby digital audio to be decoded, and output on a pair of analog speakers.
This will give two-channel stereo systems the ability to convey some of the same surround sound information as a proper 5.1 system, but without the artificialness that usually accompanies such enhancement.




It’s been camera shy thus far, but the Samsung I8000 has finally made its first public appearance by way of a Lithuanian online retailer. The I8000 is the successor to the Omnia and will come with the following impressive specs.

From American food company Heinz comes this Beanzawave portable microwave. It’s the world’s smallest, portable microwave oven, measuring 7.4 inches tall x 6.2 inches wide x 5.9 inches. It’s only a prototype at the moment.
Toshiba has a few new Satellite laptops landing in Europe. The A500 features a 16-inch, 16:9 format display (1366 x 768), a TV-tuner for analog and digital DVB-T programming, Harman Kardon speakers and HDMI ports with REGZA LINK technology. Inside it packs an Intel Core 2 Duo, 8GB memory, ATI Mobility Radeon HD GPU (up to 1GB DDR3 VRAM), and either a 500GB HDD or 64GB SSD.
The new Logitech V220 notebook mice are far out man. Normally only coming in dark gray, the three-button peripheral now comes in several psychedelic colors, including blue, pink, purple and red. But not just colors. There’s also three new patterns available.

Sports games traditionally are not my favorite genre. I never bought a sports game for the Xbox 360, PS2, or PS3. I have bought a few sports games for the Wii though that are lots of fun to play thanks to the cool Wii controls.
