Nintendo reveals new Super Mario Bros. for Wii

Posted in Wii by Conner Flynn on June 2nd, 2009

Nintendo reveals new Super Mario Bros. for WiiNintendo just announced the New Super Mario Bros. Wii. The title will feature multiplayer-friendly gameplay, supporting up to 4 players for some local action. The emphasis is on co-operative play, while maintaining the classic Super Mario look and feel.

You’ll find all the usual warp pipes, hidden areas, and plenty of coins. But there’s some new stuff too, like the Propeller suit, where Mario and others have a propeller attached to their heads. Shake the Wiimote and players can fly in the air.

Hardcore Mario fans should love it, but what they showed in the presentation was fairly unimpressive to us.

Nintendo should be putting out a lot more 1st party titles, $5+ billion and what does the gamer get? A good warranty policy on their console? Please, if Nintendo really cared about the consumer they would be putting out more product and not just stuffing their pockets full of cash.

Look at the line up for both of their consoles this year. It is the true definition of pathetic.

what? r u retarded? pathetic? If putting out two more mario games and and extraordinary looking metroid game is not enough u definately need to go play on ur playstation!!

I don’t know what you’re complaining about. If you paid attention Nintendo is perennially in financial trouble, it doesn’t have the deep pockets of a Microsoft or a Sony. I’m more worried that, if the new game isn’t all that impressive, that Nintendo is starting to react to criticism about their lack of titles by sacrificing quality for quantity.
