Microsoft introduces Bing Mobile

Posted in Microsoft by Conner Flynn on June 3rd, 2009

bingIn case you haven’t heard, Microsoft recently unveiled its Bing search engine in an effort to overcome Google. Now they have also brought Bing to the mobile platform by introducing Bing Mobile, which can be enjoyed across a range of mobile devices.

So far user impressions seem pretty positive. Simple and clean results are displayed in a nice format. Microsoft is hoping that you might point portable device’s browser to m.bing.com and see what the buzz is all about.

Would like to comment on bing mobile for those whom are concidering downloading and using. I have a HTC Touch Pro2 windows mobile and live in canada I tried bing so I could voice prompt adresses to the map because im on the road when i need to find a adress and find it dangrous to type and drive at the same time. voice prompt dident work very well, the only thing it could pick up on was simple examples like “pizza” not specific adresses. Map is super ugly compared to google map, all out of focus. GPS works fine. movie search dont work in canada, neither dose traffic or gas prices. as for the program working on the phone, it frooze my phone several times, making me reboot it every time.
all-in-all, very disapointing. whenever i hear of a new windows mobile program i get pretty stoked. being jelous of iphone users who have access to a 1000 and one apps, but bing is just usless (especially where i live) i understand you get what u pay for (nothing) but google map is free and is vastly better then bing.
well thanks for letting me vent my frustration and hopfully this may be of some use to some others.
    cheers, BR
