JVC shows off thin LCD TV with a camel hump |
Thin TVs are all the rage right now with CES back in January having more thin screens that massive screen sets. OLED TVs offer the thinnest screen sizes typically, but you pay dearly for the technology. Some LCD TVs and Plasma sets are getting thin as well.
JVC has introduced a new LCD TV with a 32-inch screen that offers a very thin profile only 6.4mm at its thinnest point. That turns out to be a big caveat when you look further at the specs and find at its thickest point, which is basically half the screen, its 22.5mm thick.
Connectivity features are lacking with only two HDMI ports, RGB, component, and composite. It should be illegal to launch a TV today with any less than four HDMI ports on the rear. The contrast ratio is a bit scant as well at 4000:1 and 400 nits of brightness is average. The screen supports full HD resolution.

Define “full HD resolution.” Is that 720p, 540p, 1080i or 1080p?
