Gateway unveils new desktop computers |
The desktop computer was once the most common computer that consumers purchased. Today prices on notebooks and netbooks have came down so much that you can buy a notebook for the same price or even less than your average desktop. Still there are some who prefer a desktop to a notebook and for that group Gateway has unveiled new systems.
Gateway has introduces two new desktop lines including the small form factor SX series and the mini-tower DX series. The SX desktops start at $499.99 and for that price you get some nice hardware. The rig runs an Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 CPU, 4GB of RAM, and a 640GB HDD.
The DX series starts at $749.99 and for that much loot you get an AMD Phenom X4 9750 CPU, Radeon HD 4650 graphics, 8GB of RAM and a 1TB HDD. Spend a bit more and for $899.99 you can get the DX with an Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400, 8GB of RAM, NVIDIA G210 graphics, and a 750GB HDD. Oh, and the $899.99 config includes a 23-inch 1920 x 1080 resolution LCD.
