Kick the habit with Blu Electronic Cigarettes

Posted in Home by Conner Flynn on May 27th, 2009

Kick the habit with Blu Electronic Cigarettes If you are a smoker, now is a good time to either quit or find some cheaper way to maintain the habit. Cigarette prices are rising and more states are banning smoking in public places. Blu Electronic Cigarettes can help. These “cigarettes” use a nicotine cartridge that contains an atomizer that vaporizes the nicotine.

It will deliver your nicotine without the harmful carcinogens, while satisfying the habitual aspects of smoking, like actually holding the cigarette and blowing out what appears to be smoke. That smoke is really just water vapor. And you can smoke these anywhere, even in places where smoking cigarettes is prohibited. Because they aren’t cigarettes.

Zombie torso gelatin mold

Zombie torso gelatin moldIf you have a love of gelatinous desserts, it’s perfectly understandable if you find the usual shapes boring. Someone needs to shake up the world of gelatin and add a sense of adventure, suspense and danger. Something undead perhaps.

As usual, Think Geek has come through with this cool little crawling zombie torso gelatin mold. It’s made from high impact food-grade styrene, so is not dishwasher safe, but if you take good care of it, it can be your little zombie factory.

SIM Card Spy Ear Power Strip: Eavesdrop and power gadgets at the same time

Posted in Spy Gear by Conner Flynn on May 27th, 2009

SIM Card Spy Ear Power StripThe SIM Card Spy Ear Power Strip is a fully working 8–way power strip. But it’s so much more. It also contains a rechargeable battery and a tri-band mobile phone transmitter. Just put in your choice of SIM card, plug the unit into a wall socket, someplace where your enemy is residing, then dial the SIM number on your mobile phone and you’re in. Instant eavesdropping.

It won’t work with 3G networks. $66.00 is a bargain in the spy world. As usual, you just have to pray that your enemy does not read tech blogs or else he might be onto you.

Coin Bank, for vertical money saving

Posted in Furniture by Conner Flynn on May 27th, 2009

Coin Bank, for vertical money savingThis bank is like a game of Connect Four. Except, that you would need to connects thousands…Of coins. I won. Where? There, diagonally. Pretty sneaky sis! This bank stands on its own and is a piece of furniture all by itself. It’s called the Coin Bank and I can only guess that when it is emptied from the bottom, it’s like winning big in Vegas as the coins pile up around you.

The design is simple. Just two pieces of glass pressed together with pegs between. Just drop your change in on top and watch it fall. All of the coins stay in place until you unlock and empty it.

Apple prepping less costly MacBook Air with 3G?

Posted in Apple by Conner Flynn on May 27th, 2009

Apple prepping less costly MacBook Air with 3G?This rumor, if true, may be a sign that Apple wants to compete with netbooks or that in this economy, they don’t think that consumers will continue to pay a premium for the Apple name in the longterm. Either way, Apple may push the cost of the MacBook Air down while extending its feature set. Unnamed sources for SiliconRumors claim that an entry-level model will push the price down to between $1,300 and $1,500, or at least $300 less than the current model. Whether this would be a smaller model or just a price cut isn’t clear.

The same tips say that Apple will add at least an option for built-in 3G for wide-area wireless and may make solid-state drives standard on all models instead of a high-end option. GPS to locate the Mac is an option but “less likely.”

LG unveils 3D LCD display

Posted in LG by Conner Flynn on May 27th, 2009

LG unveils 3D LCD displayLG just released its latest full HD 3D LCD display. We’re talking 23″ of 3D right in your living room, along with double the brightness of a standard 3D LCD display. This allows LG to claim that they are the first in the world. Not that they like to brag or anything.

Thanks to time-sequential technologies, both right and left eyes will view different images, fooling you into thinking that you’re actually looking at a 3D image. Wait. What if I don’t want to be fooled? Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice and I just might enjoy 3D images on your LCD sirs.

iPod Shuffle 3G clone from Digitalrise has FM, looks hugeSomebody is always cloning an Apple product. I guess Apple should take that as a compliment. Here’s a fake iPod Shuffle 3G that appears to be large enough to be an iPod nano. We aren’t sure what’s actually inside as it weighs just 14 grams.

Well, we do know that it has an integrated FM tuner with audio recording, a phone book, and an e-book reader. Which is quite a feat as it has no screen. If you want to know more, I suggest you drop the necessary $23 and try to use it with ebooks.

Samsung S5050 shows up in press photos

Posted in Samsung by Conner Flynn on May 27th, 2009

Samsung S5050 shows up in press photosThe Samsung S5050 doesn’t have much to brag about when it comes to specifications. It’s a plain-jane phone with EDGE, Bluetooth, FM radio and a 3.2MP camera. You can save photos on a MicroSDHC card. (8GB max)

It does catch the eye and the design, with it’s pink-ish flair should make it a hit with female customers. (Since they didn’t go all pink) It has just enough pink to say, I’m a female and I don’t have to carry Hello Kitty around with me. The phone weighs 102g with a 105x49x14.6mm form factor.

Cooler Master Storm gaming mouse with OLED display

Posted in Mouse by Conner Flynn on May 27th, 2009

Cooler Master Storm gaming mouse with OLED displayTweaktown recently got to check out Cooler Master’s upcoming Storm gaming mouse. This mouse is interesting mostly because of the built-in OLED display, adjustable DPI, and lots of lights. Obviously you aren’t going to do much with the screen, being the small size that it is.

You could display a small logo maybe. The model shown here is not the final version, so all of the lighting tricks aren’t shown. Yeah, it’s tacky, but those who love flashing shiny things will be happy. Pricing and availability are not yet known.

Simvalley PICO RX-80: Credit card sized mobile phonePhones keep getting smaller, but this is ridiculous. This is one of the smallest mobile phones we’ve seen. It’s dubbed the Simvalley PICO RX-80 and it’s just 1cm thick, making the Simvalley PICO RX-80 about the size of a credit card.

Due to the size it isn’t going to have many great features. It sports a 1.2 inch LCD screen with a resolution of 96 x 49 and the phone itself measures a tiny 50 x 800 x 10mm. Some other specs include: Dual-band for GSM 900/1800 networks, Backlit buttons and display Backlit screen and keys, reminder, hidden identity, speed dialing, keypad lock, and 32MB Internal Memory.

GM announces Automatic Crash Response technology

GM announces Automatic Crash Response technologyHere’s some technology that we hope you never have a personal use for. GM has announced its OnStar Automatic Crash Response technology that can transmit “basic telemetry from a crash, including GPS location, the crash’s severity, and whether the car’s airbags deployed.”

The new tool is called Injury Severity Prediction, because it will analyze the collected data and attempt to predict whether the crash has caused severe injury to passengers. Each crash will be given an Injury Severity Prediction of ‘normal’ or ‘high,’ which helps first responders better determine what level of care is required and what medical facility they need to transport you too.

Ultimate DJ controller from NumarkWe’ve seen DJ Hero’s turntable/controller, so here’s the controller from The Ultimate DJ . It looks just like we saw in the screenshot.

It’s a free-spinning, touch-sensitive turntable to the left with five Akai Pro MPC-style drum pad triggers next to a cross-fader. Looks like you’ll be able to upload your own samples with a compatible USB mic as well as use the preloaded ones and you can rotate the mixer to the left if you are a lefty.

gtaiv-sbOne of the biggest games available on any gaming system is Grand Theft Auto. The franchise has proven to be one of the top game franchises going. The game has raised more than a bit of ire in the industry as groups claim it is too violent and promotes violence in the real world. Despite some opinions, the game is still one of the most successful around.

Rockstar has announced new DLC for GTA IV that is Xbox 360 exclusive. The new content is called Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony. This is the second episode in the Episodes from Liberty City expansion and will launch this fall.
