Posted in Android by Conner Flynn on May 6th, 2009

Dell Mini 9 to get Adobe Flash on Android platform?Bsquare, a mobile software developer, will apparently be porting Adobe Flash Lite to Dell netbooks. Interestingly, they let slip that these Dell netbooks would be running on Android. Bsquare mentioned the Dell Inspiron Mini 9 specifically and noted that Android will most likely be appearing on that netbook.

In what capacity Adobe Flash Lite will be appearing is anyone’s guess. And we don’t know when the Adobe Flash Lite port will be available on these netbooks or when Android will be making its appearance, though it’s likely it will all happen at once.

NU Universal Docking StationOne of the major drawbacks of a netbook is the lack of storage options. That’s why NU is offering their Universal Docking Station for netbooks. It’s pretty darn useful and comes with an integrated Super-Multi DVD writer next to a removable enclosure that can hold another 2.5″ hard drive.

But that’s not all. They also threw in a two-port USB hub and a built-in fan. No word yet on price or availability, but it should be headed stateside soon.

Sony Rolly discontinued

Posted in Sony by Conner Flynn on May 6th, 2009

Sony Rolly gets Bluetooth, more memoryWe wish we could say that this came as a surprise, but nope, we kinda figured that the little Rolly was on The way out. The Sony Rolly has been discontinued in the U.S. The good news is if you are located near a SonyStyle store, go check it out to see if they have them in stock. Thy are having a fire sale with a price of $99. That’s $300 off the original price.

Again, this is no big surprise. The Rolly was a $400 dancing egg. You do the math. But we can’t help wondering what Sony will dream up next to take its place. Maybe a little dancing and hopping cube. Think Rubik’s cube meets Disco.

Activetrax AM/FM radio, MP3 speaker

Activetrax AM/FM radio, MP3 speakerWe’re always on the lookout for MP3 speakers, so we had a chance to check out this one from Seattle Sports Co. “Activetrax On the go audio”. It’s designed for camping situations and features AM/FM, weatherband and also serves as an MP3 speaker. It comes with it’s own protective case and can operate by either solar or crank power. So it would seem to be ideal for camping.

As an MP3 speaker, it does the job, but don’t expect high quality sound. It gets pretty loud, but as with most of these type of speakers, the louder you crank it, the more sound problems you have.

Dog shaped dog poop composter

Posted in Pets by Conner Flynn on May 6th, 2009

Dog poop composterNote to Japan. Trying to make dog poop fun by making this dog poop composter look like a robotic dog just ain’t cutting it. Poop is gross. Dog poop is gross. You can’t make it fun. You just can’t. Please stop trying to make poop fun.

I mean you put the poop in the dog’s mouth. I know some troubled dogs eat their own, but still. It’s called Sum, a robotic trash can designed by Tohoku Kankyo. Just open the dog’s mouth, insert poop and old food, and it’ll break it down and make it not stinky. It can take about 600 grams of poop or food per day. Does the broken down poop and food then come out of robo-dog’s butt?

Posted in Mouse by Conner Flynn on May 6th, 2009

TEC's Lingo mouse, another "world's smallest"TEC’s Lingo mouse might be a perfect little mouse for those small of finger and desktop space. It bills itself as the “smallest mouse”, at 27.5 x 60 x 19 mm and 0.8 ounces. The Z-Nano is actually smaller, but hey guys, size doesn’t matter that much does it?

This tiny pointer features 800 dpi, 2.4GHz with a range of up to 32.8 feet, and about 15 hours battery life with automatic shutoff if left alone for five minutes. We have no idea if it will make it to the states.
