msixslimx400-sbI find myself really wanting to get my hands on the MSI X-Slim X400 notebook. Since I saw the X340 at CES I have thought that the slim notebook would be a good replacement for my netbook. It would be nice to have a larger keyboard and screen sometimes, plus the X-Slim machines are way cool.

MSI talked up the new X400 and X600 machines back at the beginning of the month, but offered little in the way of details on the machines. MSI got official with some more specs on the notebooks today. We already knew that the X400 would offer a 14-inch screen and the X600 would offer a 16-inch screen.

MSI now says that the X400 will get a very slim Li-poly battery and weigh only 1.5kg. The X600 will get the same battery tech and weigh 2.1kg. Both the units are under an inch thick and will support Blu-ray and offer 16:9 theater class LED backlit LCD screens. The X400 and X340 will have an available 8-cell battery option and the X600 will get a 9-cell option. Pricing and availability are still unknown.
