When Microsoft launched its Zune DAP it hoped that the device would dethrone Apple as the leader in the digital music category. That failed to happen and Microsoft languishes in third spot in sales behind Apple and SanDisk.
Microsoft has announced a new exclusive animated series for the Zune that the software giant hopes will lure digital content fans to the Zune platform. The series is called City Council 3050 AD and the pilot episode will debut in Seattle later this month.
The comedy series is set in the distant future and follows the happenings of the city council as they hear issues on a C-SPAN like access channel. The series will put political topics being talked about today into story lines set in the future according to the show producers. Episodes will be offered as free downloads on the Zune Marketplace.DAP, Microsoft, Zune
