Posted in Keyboards by Conner Flynn on May 31st, 2009

The Hunt ‘n Peck Keyboard for those who never learnedThere are those who have never learned how to type. These people use a method called hunt n peck. Understandably, these people have a hard time trying to hunt and peck on a normal keyboard. With this keyboard, just hit the ABC key and it will switch to alphabetical order, making it easier to find the key you need.

For others in the house, those who actually learned how to type, just push the button again and you have a normal QWERTY keyboard. This keyboard also has keys that have common IM abbreviations for you super lazy types.

Posted in Samsung by Conner Flynn on May 31st, 2009

Samsung F480 Games Edition unveiledFirst launched in the spring of 2008, the Samsung F480 is Samsung’s most successful touchscreen phone to date. It’s sold more than 5 million units worldwide (under various names. You may know it as the Samsung TouchWiz, Samsung Toco or Samsung F488. Yeah, it has an identity crisis).

Anyhow, now the F480 comes in a Games Edition, with five full games pre-installed, including “Pacman”, “Who wants to be a millionaire 2009″ and “Millenium Poker.” Those names don’t seem all that exciting to us, but your mileage may vary. Aside from that feature, the Samsung F480 Games Edition looks to have the same features of the original phone: QVGA touchscreen display, 5MP autofocus camera, Bluetooth and HSDPA connectivity.

Philadelphia rolls out solar-powered trash compactorsThere’s a new trash can in Philadelphia. Several in fact. These brand new solar trash cans are being installed on philly sidewalks and are entirely powered by the sun. The city hopes that you will use them. They can accept close to eight times as much waste as a regular trash can. They go by the name of Big Bellys and they will save the city close to 12 million dollars over 10 years!

The first Big Belly was recently inaugurated by the Mayor at 15th Street and JFK boulevard at JFK Plaza. Over 500 of the units will be installed by July. 210 of those will also feature an additional recycling bin component. Since the compacting bins only have to be emptied 5 times per week (Regular bins which must be emptied 19 times), the city will see huge savings on staff time, fuel costs, and greenhouse gas emissions.

Vader Back Buddy Pack turns Darth Vader into a hugging wuss

Posted in Star Wars by Conner Flynn on May 31st, 2009

Vader Back Buddy Pack turns Darth Vader into a hugging wussTimes have been tough for Lord Vader. After a stunning trio of classic films where he was the ultimate bad guy, Vader was on top of the world. Then he hit rock bottom after three lame prequels, being portrayed as a lame sissy-boy by the highly feminine and over emoting Hayden Christensen.

Sadly, this Back Buddy drives the nail in Vader’s coffin and completes the sissi-fi-cation of the sith lord. This back-pack is so demeaning, even Ewoks won’t fear Vader, but will instead Worship him as the god of cuddly back hugs. It’s wrong. Very wrong.
