Samsung announces two new netbooks

samsungn120-sbNetbook sales are booming as consumers buy the low cost machines in droves. The only real issue that goes along with using a netbook rather than a full notebook is that the keyboards tend to be smaller on netbooks and the machines lack the power that full notebooks have.

Samsung has announced a pair of new netbooks called the N110 and the N120. The two machines share some of the same features including an Intel Atom N270 CPU running at 1.6GHz, Windows XP Home, 1GB of RAM, a 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 LED backlit LCD, and a 160GB HDD.

Both machines use a 6-cell battery as well with the N110 battery providing 5900mAh of power good for nine hours of use and the N120 battery offering 5200mAh. The N110 measures 10.27-inches W x 1.19-inches H x 7.3-inches D. The N120 measures 10.71-inches W x 1.71-inches H x 7.4-inches D. The real difference between the two comes in the keyboards. The N110 has a 93% full size keyboard while the N120 uses the slightly larger dimensions to offer a 97% full size keyboard. Both machines are available now with the N110 selling for $469 and the N120 selling for $459.

Why do they do that - announce them long after they are already in sale! The first N120 owners have been sharing their thoughts already (seems to be positive so far).

Anyways, good news for sammy fans!

  2. Ed Fry Says:

I’m not sure the revised keyboard on this will match the HP Compaq mini 700 though!
