Calgary to be Motorola’s first Android phoneMotorola’s Calgary really looks awesome and makes you take notice. And it’s on Verizon. According to BGR, the QWERTY slider will be focused on social networking much like the new Sidekick. The only thing we’re unsure about is that flat keyboard. Will it be finger friendly or not?

It looks absolutely sexy. Moto could really have a hit on their hands, with this well-designed Android phone. No word yet as to whether this is slated for Q2 or not.

Sony unveiling new PSP with slide-out buttons at E3?Rumors of a major PSP hardware redesign have repeatedly surfaced over the last several months. There have been claims that the UMD disc drive is gone, and others pointing to a second analog stick and sliding screen. 1up cites some sources directly involved with the new system and says that Sony will unveil their revamped PSP at this year’s E3 conference in June.

Here’s the breakdown. The UMD is gone, replaced with options for 8GB or 16GB of built-in flash memory. Three rumored names include PSP Slide, PSP Flip, and PSP Go!. That last borrows from Sony’s Go! brand and has us thinking there might be a built-in camera. The same D-pad, analog nub, and face button configuration, but they now slide out from the bottom of the unit.

Non-Shaking Cocktail Cyclone makes Tom Cruise sad

Posted in Kitchen by Conner Flynn on April 29th, 2009

Non-Shaking Cocktail Cyclone makes Tom Cruise sadWhat kind of a world are we living in where we make gadgets for people who are too lazy to shake/stir? If this Non-Shaking Cocktail Cyclone had existed and was widely used years ago, the movie Cocktail would have been completely different and completely boring.

Just press a button and the cyclone action begins. This baby will hold 16 Ounces and runs on 2 AAA batteries. It’s just one of a bunch of gadgets that make us so lazy that in the future, human arms will de-volve into T-rex type baby arms.

owcvidadapter-sbMac users are a tight group for the most part that is so proud of their hardware and software that many become rather militant towards criticism of Apple. One of the things that can be said about Mac computers is that there is much less support for upgrading Macs than there is for upgrading Windows computers.

If a PC user wants to add a second monitor to their computer and they need a new video card Walmart, Best Buy and a bevy of other sources sell video cards for little cash. The Mac user on the other hand has significantly less options. Mac supporting firm OWC has announced a new USB video adapter that works with both Mac and Windows machines.

Hulu breaks into top 3 for video sites

Posted in Hulu by Shane McGlaun on April 29th, 2009

hulu-sbI am a big Hulu fan; I often use the site to watch old TV shows like A-Team and Airwolf with my kids. Typically, the old shows I loved so much as a kid are not as cool now as they were then, I wish they would remake A-Team as a series like they did Battlestar Galactica.

ComScore has announced the rankings for video sites for March and for the first time Hulu has climbed into the top three video sites. Hulu viewers watched 380 million videos on the site during March, which sounds like a lot until you see how many videos were watched on YouTube.

msivalentinesu100-sbIt’s not hard to understand why netbooks are doing so well in the current global economy. People still want and need new computers, they simply don’t want or can’t spend what they would have on a new computer last year.

Netbooks are cheap, light, and portable leading many mobile users to jump on the netbook train. Strategy Analytics offers a few details about the netbook market in its latest report. According to the firm 2/3 of all netbooks sell for under $500 and more than half of all netbooks sold use Windows XP Home.

Kitty rocks Guitar Hero

Posted in Games by Conner Flynn on April 28th, 2009

First off this guy looks a lot like Jack Osbourne. Secondly, this adorable kitty either really loves or really hates Guitar Hero. You’ll die of cuteness overload as he climbs up on this guy’s shoulder and steals the limelight. It’s unclear if he wants the music to stop or if he is just trying to rock out. Either way is fine with us.

He basically puts this dude in his place and shows the world who the real front man is. I think the kitty must enjoy it because near the end the little guy gets so relaxed on the guitar he basically falls off.

The Apache: The ultimate in 19th century weaponryMeet the Apache. A triple threat weapon from a more civilized? age. What you get is a gun/brass knuckles/knife combo that will keep you safe on the streets circa 1870 – 1900. It’s absolutely brilliant and functions in a three step process when you encounter hooligans.

Step one. Shoot. If you miss and your attacker rushes you then move on to step two which is to hit him with the brass knuckles. Should one blow fail to stop your attacker and you find yourself wrestling about ala kirk from Star Trek, then it’s time for step three. Knife that sucker. Done. Thank god you had the Apache.

Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles Shot BlasterFew things in life are better than shooting zombies with a plastic gun. Unfortunately, most of the gun accessories for the Wii are pretty boring. Gamers want something that stands out. A gun they can be proud of. One that they will give a female name too and tote with them in their backpack.

Well, this new Resident Evil Shot Blaster is just the ticket. It shows that you are serious about your zombie hunting and spend way too much time in your mother’s basement. You can purchase the gun for $29.95 online from Capcom. It includes Resident Evil-style Wiimote and Nunchuk skins.
