BlueAnt Q1 Bluetooth headset debuts

blueant020-sbI’m not a big fan of Bluetooth headsets personally; I prefer to just hold my phone to my ear. However, in some states you have to use hands free devices to be able to use cell phones while driving. If you live in one of those states, a Bluetooth hands free kit or headset is required.

BlueAnt has announced a new Bluetooth headset called the Q1 that has some very interesting features. The most important feature is that the device can be controlled using voice commands. The headset responds to spoken commands like redial, call back, answer/ignore call, and check battery.

The Q1 can pair with eight different devices and can connect to two phones simultaneously and answer whichever one rings. Talk time is up to four hours per charge and 100 hours of standby. The device uses dual microphones to eliminate external sounds and improve call quality. Firmware inside the device can be updated via a USB connection with your PC and wind shields are built into the device to reduce wind noise. Pricing for the Q1 has not been announced at this point.
