AMD unveils ATI Radeon HD 4770 video card

atihd4770-sbATI has debuted a new video card called the HD 4770 that is aimed at the low-end gaming market, something very welcome in the current poor economy. The card carries an MSRP of $99 and supports DirectX10.1 games like Battleforge, HAWX, STALKER Clear Sky, and Stormrise.

The HD 4770 uses GDDR5 RAM and is built on the 40nm process. AMD claims that the low cost video card sets new levels of performance-per-dollar and performance-per-watt. The card supports CrossFireX for higher performance with dual HD 4770 cards.

HDMI is supported with an on-card sound card and the 4770 is capable of decoding and accelerating HD video. AMD has also debuted a new CPU that used in conjunction with the new video card offers performance at a low price. The CPU is called the AMD Athlon X2 7850 CPU and a is best with the new 7-series chipset.
