Please, take off your Rose Colored Glasses…. Whether you are vegan or not I suggest you do more research before you bad mouth a great way of life for the sheep, dogs & shepherds. As for the “geeks”,their ingenuity is amazing. This just goes to show how many entities, working together (& women included), can create an amazing form of art for all to enjoy.

As a shepherd and former vegetarian, I respect your views. However, sheep do not suffer from being herded, particularly with such highly-trained dogs and shepherds. This is actually an amazing feat of animal husbandry and skill, one which you would be unable to fully appreciate until you spend half an hour trying to get those last five ewes into the shearing pen. Furthermore, by protesting these “harmful” practices, you are more likely to hurt sheep than help them. By boycotting the byproducts of sheep raising, such as wool, you make sheep a less profitable commodity. Shepherds will then raise fewer of them and, as today’s modern sheep breeds are unable to live in the wild, the total number of sheep will fall. Not to mention all the shepherds you’ll put out of work!
