Pong-playing LED sheep

Posted in Humor by Conner Flynn on March 18th, 2009

Check this out. A bunch of Sheep herder dudes in the Uk got together and armed with a bunch of LEDs and a camera created some amazing moving art.

“We took to the hills of Wales armed to the teeth with sheep, LEDs and a camera, to create a huge amazing LED display.”

The best part? They create a giant Pong game with the LED wearing sheep. Sure there are a few stray pixels because the dumber ones can’t get it together, but it rocks.

Who knew shepherds were such geeks?

it’s really sad, ignorant, and dispicable that a bunch of men (no kidding)would get together to scare a bunch of sheep to death to entertain tech geeks who apparently don’t care about these poor, sweet creatures

  2. k baref Says:

poor LISA! she’s the one who doesn’t get it. those men care more for those sheep than she could ever imagine. you can’t spend the time with those creatures and not care for them. i didn’t see one animal hurt in the making of that video and sheep are such foolish creatures, if it wasn’t for shepherds and sheepdogs, they would likely be extinct today.

go eat another tofu sandwich and think about the grain you’re hurting by eating it. it was a living creature once too. how selfish of you to eat a living thing…maybe you should try dirt.

  3. Jillianfilms Says:

    That was amazing! So cool!

And k baref, you’re right. Thanks for saying that.

  4. pollyx Says:

Amazing, loved this, have watched it many times. And as my sis says, who has raised several border collies, says, all made possible by those remarkable dogs. And as an aside, there is no reason to assume any of these animals were harmed whatsoever by this experience.

  5. Bob Says:

Lisa is concerned about the welfare of animals. That’s not a crime, and it’s certainly no reason to denigrate hew personally.

  6. Rachael Says:

    Lisa and Bob,

As a shepherd and former vegetarian, I respect your views. However, sheep do not suffer from being herded, particularly with such highly-trained dogs and shepherds. This is actually an amazing feat of animal husbandry and skill, one which you would be unable to fully appreciate until you spend half an hour trying to get those last five ewes into the shearing pen. Furthermore, by protesting these “harmful” practices, you are more likely to hurt sheep than help them. By boycotting the byproducts of sheep raising, such as wool, you make sheep a less profitable commodity. Shepherds will then raise fewer of them and, as today’s modern sheep breeds are unable to live in the wild, the total number of sheep will fall. Not to mention all the shepherds you’ll put out of work!

    Dear Sweet,Ignorant Lisa,

Please, take off your Rose Colored Glasses…. Whether you are vegan or not I suggest you do more research before you bad mouth a great way of life for the sheep, dogs & shepherds. As for the “geeks”,their ingenuity is amazing. This just goes to show how many entities, working together (& women included), can create an amazing form of art for all to enjoy.
