Sharkoon Rush FireGlider: The flame-painted hot rod of gaming miceWeight-adjustable mice are nothing new, they just tend to get ignored. Sharkoon(The company that can’t decide if it’s a shark or a raccoon) is hoping that a fiery exterior will get your attention. It not only has the flame motiff, but the slug chamber looks like the chamber in a gun. Probably symbolic of you biting the bullet and actually buying one.

So to summarize, the Rush FireGlider has flames, a no-slip grip, a half dozen programmable buttons, maximum resolution of 3,600 DPI, Teflon feet for superior gliding and an internal tuning system to adjust its weight from 118 to 135 grams. Oh yeah and the bullet chamber thing.

24 Samsung SSDs strung together for super geek fun

Just so you know, this is a piece of Samsung marketing material. It also happens to be pretty damn amazing and may make you judge your own computer unfit. A bunch of Samsung geeks strung 24 256GB SSD drives together in a RAID with the hopes of making the fast SSD drives even faster.

The system reaches transfer speeds of 2GBps. Here’s what that means in simple terms. All of Microsoft Office opens in .5 seconds, 53 programs from the test rig’s Start menu open in 18 seconds and the entire system defrags in about 3 seconds. In comic book terms, this is like if the Flash did a line of coke, drank a case of jolt cola, snorted pure sugar and for some reason his butt is was on fire. Yeah, its that fast!

What if the iPhone was released in the 80s?Things might have turned out a little differently had the iPhone been released back in the 1980s. What you’re looking at is dubbed the Touch Screen Rotary. A home phone that looks like it comes from a parallel universe, combining old school with some modern functionality.

The rotary dial has been replaced with touch controls next to a backlit display that shows you who’s calling thanks to built-in caller ID. For the outside, designer Mark Miller decided on a highly polished ABS lined with a frosted polycarbonate base which will provide a soft glow each time you get a call.

The Inlet-Outlet: Harnessing energy from your daily lifeThis may come as shock to you, but you are wasting energy. Everyday. How about giving back, simply by plugging into your wall? It may come sooner than you think. Nearly every room in our home has an electrical outlet. What if each one had a matching electrical “inlet” so you could give some back?

The idea is that adapter kits would be made available to convert common household products into energy-generating devices. Things like exercise equipment, for instance. Maybe even the wheel in your hamster’s cage.
