msigt628-sbGaming notebooks are great for gamers who either don’t have the room for a full-size desktop computer or who like to travel with their computer. One of the biggest problems with gaming machines is that they are expensive and tend to have less battery life than other notebooks.

MSI has announced its most recent gaming notebook called the GT 628. The machine uses the new NVIDIA GTS 160M GPU that NVIDI promises delivers 50% more performance than the video card it replaces. The GTS 160M also features 1GB of DDR3 RAM.

The high performance GPU allows the machine to decode HD video without placing any strain on the CPU. MSI offers an optional Blu-ray drive to take advantage of the HD capabilities of the notebook. Other features include Intel Centrino 2 CPU technology, a webcam, integrated Wi-Fi, a 15.4-inch LCD with a resolution of 1680 x 1050 and a 320GB HDD. The machine will be available in April at an undisclosed price.
