Samsung launches the SL820 digital camera

Samsung SL820This week has been big on new mobile phone announcements with Mobile World Congress 2009 going on and now things are heating up with lots of digital camera announcements as well. Samsung has introduced several new point-and-shoot digital cameras including the SL820.

Samsung’s SL820 is a 12.2-megapixel camera with a 5x optical zoom. The LCD is a 3-inch unit and the camera is capable of recording 720p HD video in H.264 format at 30 fps. To allow for easy viewing of video on your big screen the camera also features HDMI out.

Overall dimensions for the 820 are 94.5mm x 58.9mm x 22.5mm and the camera uses a 28mm wide-angle lens. Dual optical and digital image stabilization is integrated along with face detection, smile shot, and blink detection. The camera will be available in May for $279.99.
