Voodoo Firefly notebook concept is cool |
There are some things that virtually all gaming notebooks have in common, one of them being the placement of the track pad. Laptop Magazine got its hands on a new concept notebook form HP called the Firefly with Voodoo DNA.
The gaming machine is very slick and offers up some interesting firsts in the notebook and gaming notebook genre. One of the most notable features is the 17-inch primary display and the 4.3-inch secondary display under it. How useful a 4.3-inch LCD with a resolution of 800 x 480 can be is a big question mark. The main LCD has a 1920 x 1200 resolution.
The track pad supports multi-touch and is positioned to the right of the keyboard rather than below it. The position may look weird, but it should be more comfortable since we use our desktops with the mouse to the right for the most part. Who knows if the concept will ever come to market, but it is a neat idea.

Cool idea, but how useful will it really be, and how much will it cost? The days of $3,000 laptops are pretty much past, as witnessed by the success of netbooks.
This is a nice laptop but would be nicer in a 20.1 inch. Plus the removal of the number key pad is a bit of a let down. Although the question is again, how much will one of these puppies run you. So far I have heard anywhere of up to $6,000 i my searches and if that turns out to be true that is quite steep for one. Plus another question is what options are available. Will there be more hard drive space, will there be an option for a hole to put your dick into, will there be an additional lighting feature, and will there be any other sort of hardware options or will it just be all one standard. Or quite the opposite where you got to pay out large money just to get what you want. Nice laptop but we’ll just have to see how it turns out when it turns out, eh?
