Verbatim Quad Interface Hard DriveOne of the products that I see a lot of each year at CES is external storage solutions. The usual companies like Seagate and other places offer a full line of external solutions, but it never ceases to impress me at the number of small firms I have not heard of that offer external storage.

One of the smaller firms, which I have heard of before, called Verbatim has announced a pair of new external hard drives that feature fast 7200 rpm 3.5-inch hard drives inside small enclosures. The drives feature quad interfaces and work with Mac and Windows computers.

Interface options include FireWire 400/800, USB 2.0, and eSATA ports. Storage capacities offered are 500GB and 1TB. The drives weigh 3.3 pounds and measure 8.75 x 5.9 x 1.5-inches and have 32MB of onboard cache. Both versions of the drive are available now for $179.99 for the 500GB and $249.99 for the 1TB.
