TechRestore gives Unibody MacBook Pro a Matte Finish

TechRestore gives Unibody MacBook Pro a Matte FinishSo you want your notebook to stand out from the crowd, which is pretty tough these days. TechRestore might be your answer as they are offering a matte finish screen replacement service for owners of the 15″ unibody MacBook Pro. It’s a great move by TechRestore since users have complained that the glossy screens on the newer MacBook Pros are not as readable compared to the old ones, especially under sunlight.

In order to replace the super-shiny screen with a traditional matte screen, they’ll remove the glass screen cover and the glossy LCD screen, then replace them with a matte-finish screen with same specifications as the original. The service will cost $199 in the US, with a 24-hour turnaround installation of a new replacement LCD screen, free return shipping and a 1-year warranty on parts and labor.

Not bad I guess, but you shouldn’t have to shell out the extra dough just to get a decent screen.
