Shelby Super Cars Aero EV hits 208 mph

Shelby Aero EVI will admit that I find the majority of electric vehicle that are available now very boring. I am a big car fan and prefer my vehicles to offer performance and looks. Not all of the electric vehicles out there are boring though; the Tesla Roadster springs to mind.

A new all-electric super car from Shelby Super Cars called the Aero EV has now been unveiled that takes all of the Tesla Roadster’s thunder away. The Aero EV claims to reach a top speed of 208 mph and hit 60 mph from a standstill in a mere 2.5 seconds.

The most interesting claim isn’t one of performance. Shelby claims that the car is good for 150 to 220 miles on a single charge. When the Aero EV’s battery does need recharging, it takes only 10 minutes from a 220V source according to Shelby. The car will be in production in June with availability slated for Q4 2009 at an undisclosed price.
