Firefly iPod/iPhone speaker dock from Vestalife |
Remember the Ladybug, that cute award winning iPod dock from Vestalife? Today, the company is launching two new versions of the stylish bug dock. They already had a pretty unique and innovative design, so this year they are looking to improve on the shape.
It’s far more curvy, looking less techie and more organic. With the Firefly, you have a more naturally elegant iPod/iPhone dock. The Firefly is iPhone compatible, unlike the LadyBug, and has a built-in subwoofer. Features after the jump.

Looks like Vuzix will introduce their latest head-mounted display at CES this year. It’s dubbed the Wrap 920AV. This wearable gadget has improved optics and will offer a better viewing experience. The most important aspect however, is the style change. The older models of the VR system looked like Geordi LaForge’s visor from Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Having a dog can be awesome. You are like a God to man’s best friend. Animals are even said to help keep you stress free. But they are pretty high maintenance, with the feeding and the walking. It can really cut into your gaming time.
There are some things that virtually all gaming notebooks have in common, one of them being the placement of the track pad. Laptop Magazine got its hands on a new concept notebook form HP called the Firefly with Voodoo DNA.
I always see some really cool gear at CES each year and CES 2009 will be no different. At CES 2008, one of the coolest things I saw was a 3D gaming demo NVIDIA put on. I can’t wait for 3D gaming to be more accessible for the average gamer. Perhaps one of the most exciting things at last year’s show and this year’s show will be technology to allow for 3D full HD TV viewing.
I know I am not the only gamer out there who has a Wii, PS3 and an Xbox 360 with wires and controllers lying around everywhere charging. I have a charger that will charge four Wii controllers at once, and there are several others on the market.
Two of the top selling video game franchises of 2008 were Guitar Hero and Rock Band. With the huge popularity of the music games, it’s no surprise that an ecosystem of peripherals and accessories are available to add realism and take money from the wallets of gamers.
Check out this pair of iPods that have been turned into iPod speakers. The original iPod scroll wheels were removed and replaced with a pair of speakers. This particular DIY project is a bit expensive at around $100 (he needed to replace both the front and back panels since the old ones had too many scratches to count), although I don’t see why a smart shopper couldn’t do it for a bit less.
Looks like the VW bus has jumped the groove and left it’s
Apparently, this modder hated the thought of leaving his console home alone while he was out and about in the world. Separation anxiety no doubt. Yes, this is an Xbox 360 Console and the Controllers Modded in a car! An Xbox 360 in a car, you ask? Yes. And look how well the car and the Xbox get along. It’s like they were meant for each other.
Being a man of a certain age, rather then a teenage girl, I admittedly don’t get the whole Paul Frank Monkey thing. But that monkey is damn popular. He’s on Pajamas, handbags, shirts, you name it. So it makes sense that he appears on his own iPhone 3G cases. You can find Paul Frank’s previous mobile cases
Numbers are an enemy to all. They force us to do endless calculations throughout our daily lives, and miscalculations. Numbers are everywhere. You can’t avoid them. By the time you have begun counting, they have already won. Because there will always a higher number then you can count.
Here’s a great design that can’t make up it’s mind as to whether it’s from the future or the past. We like it. The Time Tuner was created by Istanbul-based Antrepo Design Industry, who decided against the traditional digital clock face. It instead boasts an analog style that resembles a radio tuner.
World of Warcraft has a huge fanbase. The kinds of fans that are actually into tech as well. So it makes sense to have a World of Warcraft Today theme for the BlackBerry Curve. WoW fans can now get in-game graphics and icons on their communications devices, and probably helpful reminders about any guild raids they may have planned.
