iPod Cases made from old 45 RPM records |
Now here’s a case for your iPod that is actually interesting and looks unique. These cases are made from old 45s, with a plexiglass window and a cork liner. You have to love this merging of the old format with the new. It just makes sense. And looks damn good.
I love how you can line up the record label in various ways and the center hole of the record is lined up with the iPod’s scroll wheel of course. These awesome cases were made by Contexture Design, but sadly they are completely sold out of the 45 cases right now. You can see why.
Great idea. Probably one of the most unique iPod cases we’ve seen. We hope they start making more real soon.

Brilliant, you can trash a long-life, still playable, DRM free music format to make a case for your modern device that will render itself obsolete in a year or less, and be replaced by another similarly marketed device of a different size and shape.
Vinyl is making a come back, and you can’t bend an Ipod into anything useful
I love it! So many people are coming up with clever ways to recycle old LPs into new items. Not so long ago I saw old records reinvented as coasters. The album cover was laminated and cut up to become the coasters and the record itself was heated and warped into the “dish” which held the coasters.
Anyway, very cool iPod case–I hope they make more as well.
I LOVE this idea! I’d buy it.
Very neat.Makes we wish I had saved all those old 45s years ago…Is that consider “green” by the eco guys?
