Circuit City discounts to grow

Posted in circuit city by Shane McGlaun on January 29th, 2009

Circuit CityCircuit City pulled out all of the stops to prevent it from going bankrupt and being forced out of the consumer electronics market. Unfortunately, for the company things didn’t work out and after first closing only select stores, the company was forced to close all of its remaining stores on January 16.

According to one of the liquidation companies responsible for moving all of the inventory sitting on Circuit City shelves and in warehouses the discounts are set to increase. Great American Group says that record numbers of shoppers are coming to the store to take advantage of the liquidation sale.

More inventory is set to hit many stores today and discounts on some of the merchandise will be increased. Plasma HDTVs will get a discount of up to 25% with LCD HDTVs getting reductions of 20%. Car audio components will be discounted by 40% and video games, CDs, and DVDs will be discounted as well. This could be your last chance to get in on the discounts from Circuit City before it’s gone.

There are very few discounts at Circuit City. Almost a month since the initial announcement and prices are still higher than online.
