Phantom Entertainment gets funding to build Lapboard

Posted in Computer Components by Shane McGlaun on December 16th, 2008

Phantom LapboardOne of the most storied names in the annals of technology vaporware is Phantom. This is the firm who announced the Phantom game console that excited hoards of geeks to no end, only to string us along and ultimately never deliver.

Phantom changed its name to Phantom Entertainment after the failure of its console and promised to bring the Phantom Lapboard to market. The company managed to get a small amount of units built earlier this year, which were met with some scathing reviews.

Today Phantom announced that it had secured funding to build the Lapboard and has upgraded some of the internal components of the mouse and other hardware. I hope that the upgrades will make the Lapboard perform better. Phantom also announced the launch of its game store.
