Dell Adamo rumors not so confirmed after all

Posted in Dell by Shane McGlaun on December 26th, 2008

Dell AdamoThe MacBook Air was introduced this year and despite all of the limitations imposed on the machine by its thin profile, many a Mac fan and Windows user alike were impressed. The image of the thin little machine in an envelope is one that has now been copied by many notebook manufacturers.

We talked a bit about Dell’s Adamo teaser page before. It was widely reported that it had been confirmed by Dell that Adamo would be a MacBook Air competitor after a post on one of The New York Times’ blogs.

It now turns out that the confirmation by Dell cited in the NYT blog was mistaken. According to Boy Genius Report, Dell’s confirmation was only of the image used in the post, not of the text accompanying the image that claimed it was a MacBook Air competitor. It is likely that Dell is just being coy and trying to build buzz. We shall see in a few weeks when CES 2009 kicks off.
