Acer Aspire 8930G quad-core laptop

Acer Aspire 8930G quad-core laptopAcer has now updated their 8930G gaming line, adding the 8930-7665. It’s an 18.4-inch behemoth featuring Intel’s new Core 2 Quad Mobile Q9000 CPU, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 500GB 7200 SATA hard drive, and NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GT graphics with 512MB of dedicated video memory.

Aside from that, it’s identical to the previous 8930G models. Truth is most of us probably don’t need a quad-core CPU in our laptop, but why the hell not? You gotta keep up with the Jones’ and we are talking about power here. For a price. And it’s not as bad as you might think. It’s available now for $1800.

We’re already big fans of the Gemstone series, so we think this one will be a winner.
