Dell offers Black Friday discounts in netbooks

Dell Inspiron Mini 9Even if you aren’t crazy enough to brave the stores on Black Friday, you can still save some money online with special deals for the biggest shopping day of the year. Many of the big computer makers and retailers are offering some of their deals online as well as in stores.

Dell is offering some nice savings on its Mini 9 netbook. The Inspiron Mini 9 running Ubuntu Linux is selling for $299 today. The price includes 512MB of RAM, 8.9-inch LED backlit LCD, 4GB SSD, and more. That price is a $50 discount from normal.

Those wanting a more traditional operating system can get the Mini 9 running Windows XP for $449. It offers 1GB of RAM, 16GB SSD, and more. If a larger screen is what you want, the new Mini 12 with Vista Home is starting $599 with an Atom Z530 CPU, 60GB HDD, and 1GB of RAM.
