When it comes to MMORPGs the king of the hill is definitely World of Warcraft. While WoW is the most popular of the genre, there are some other notably popular games that offer MMORPG gamers alternatives and one of the most interesting is Age of Conan.

Funcom announced a new (and free) update to Age of Conan this week that adds a new outdoor area called Ymir’s Pass. The update also adds new quests, new characters, new monsters, and a new storyline for gamers to enjoy.

The update adds a large new dungeon called The Amphitheater that Funcom says holds one of the most memorable monster encounters designed for the game. The free update is available now to all subscribers and will be downloaded automatically when the game is launched. Funcom says that more updates are coming for Age of Conan that will add more weapons, areas, and new adventures.

Age of Conan
