Sony launches LittleBigPlanet |
Back in the summer of 2007, I went to E3 and sat through the Sony E3 presentation where they first talked about LittleBigPlanet. When I first heard about the game, I thought it was a rather goofy idea. Now that more details have surfaced it might be a cool game.
Sony Computer Entertainment America has announced that LittleBigPlanet is now shipping exclusively for the PS3. The game features odd sock animal-like creatures that are controlled by the player. The entire world of the game is made from material (fabric and such). Sony describes it as a stitched together material world.
The game allows players to play through puzzle levels designed by the game developers. When that gets boring players get access to the same tools the developers used to build the game to create their own levels. The player generated levels can then be shared with gamers all over the world. The game supports the Playstation Eye camera to allow players to shoot pictures of real life objects to use in the creation of their levels. The MSRP for LittleBigPlanet is $59.99.

really fun game. i highly recommend it. its fun for long-time gamers, with gameplay reminiscent of oldschool platformers, like mario, but with a new physics-based edge to keep things interesting.
plus, its fun for your girlfriend, for your kids, or your nephews, or your non-gamer friends. its fun for your parents to try, since its easy controls.. run, jump, grab. thats it!
its also fun to make levels. you can make levels with tons of complex gameplay if you are so inclined, but you can also just make a level to celebrate that Obama won, or that you graduated, or anything at all. theres some fun creation tools, you can make things move, and spin, and you can texture objects, post pictures of your face or your favorite things all over the place. create enemies, etc. its really a lot of fun.
sharing it with everyone who owns the game is a real kick! but playing other peoples levels with 4 of your friends.. thats where the magic lies. some people have made levels more fun than any of the levels included with the single-player game. thats how good the editor is!
YES!
and the costumes are fun too.
