The Good Nite Lite is designed to get your kid on the straight and narrow, because right now he or she is used to staying up late with their DS, hanging on facebook and even scrolling through our very pages to get their gadget fix. Something has to change and the Good Nite Lite is just creepy enough to work, in a teletubby sort of way. It’s designed for children ages 3 to 5 who are learning the difference between day and night and when they should be sleeping. Ok, so maybe a little young to be on the internet at night, but who knows what they get up to.

The device changes colors from warm yellow sunshine to nighttime moonlight according to the times you select. Now your kids will have a visual way of knowing when they should still be sleeping and when to wake up. The Good Nite Lite will be available in a few months for $34.99. You know, when one of these changes to daylight in the factory. Then it will be time for tubby custard and world domination.

This is one sweet looking single seat vehicle designed by Carlos Arturo Torres Tovar, who obviously channels the future like some crazy modern techno-shaman. I don’t know whether to drive it or just drool over it for an hour.

The idea is that the car works mainly through articulation meaning that this vehicle remains low at high speeds and it will also display helpful information during long trips through voice command by the driver. RD is convenient on busy roads as well as on long distance drives. Looks comfy too. It’s definitely a cool one to drive, but one problem. No room for a girl beside you. Check out a video below.

The X Sting Wish not only has a clever name, but an even more clever design. You can easily see it fragging cyborgs and aliens. It’s from UK designer Adam Scott and according to him it’s for extinguishing fires, not fragging aliens. I don’t care what he says, I want to see it make something ugly or robotic into something dead. Not that Scott cares about my fantasies.

The idea is that the X Sting Wish is much easier to understand and operate than your average extinguisher, while still being recognizable. It sports a huge trigger and many firing options, like powder, CO², and water. Plus it’s ultra durable. This is one concept I really want to see become reality.

The UV Intensity Bikini obviously looks just as awesome as any other bikini on a smoking body. But aside from that, it sports some beads that act as UV level indicators that’ll tell you when it’s ok to get more sun or when you’ve had enough. They turn a darker purple as they’re exposed to more UV rays.

It’s a great way to protect against UV rays and avoid skin cancer, while at the same time giving guys like me some eye-candy. It costs about $99, which is just a wee bit more expensive then your average bikini. I would like to volunteer my services as bead checker for any woman who needs it. I’m here for ya. I will gladly help you care for your new bikini-tech too. They can be tricky to get off.

This magnetic 4-Port USB Hub is USB 2.0 compliant and actually useful with four ports for you to fill immediately and wish you had a 5 or 6 port USB hub. It may not be the most stylish, but it features three magnets on the back, allowing you to attach it on any metallic surface, which is pretty handy. It can be yours for $13.99. Or you can just attach magnets to the one you own, which is even cheaper.

Good news for Gears of War fans. Microsoft is releasing the new Gears of War 2 Special-edition Zune on November 7th, 2008. The PMP comes pre-loaded with 244 pieces of “Gears of War” media including the soundtrack, concept art, behind-the-scenes videos, etc. It’s priced at $280, with pre-orders at Walmart.com and Amazon.com. This special edition Zune 120 also features a laser-etched “Crimson Omen” on a glossy black casing.

Just when you thought it was safe here comes yet another wacky clock. A very boxy and not swell to look at clock. This one is a lot like the Coin Lamp, in that it is a money hungry device. This Money-Saving BanClock makes you insert a coin of any value or currency before it will shut up. I think that’s called extortion. This clock/bank will hold about $25 before it needs to be emptied.

You’ll need a supply of coins by the clock so you can shut it up without punching a hole in it. What’s with these savings devices though? It used to be that people were disciplined enough to save on their own without a device encouraging them.

Forget about your sleek iPhones and your Samsungs and Nokias. Here’s a phone you can rock like it’s 1899. This steampunk phone is a prototype by Arthur Schmitt, a modern day Londoner, not a Londoner from Victorian times.

It sports a wire cover over the earpiece, period gauges, visible screws, a spinning number-counter and more. Perhaps the coolest detail is that it uses punch cards and binary phone numbers to control the phone’s features and make calls. Now that’s progress that makes phonebooks look like rolodex’s. “Can you hear me through me amazingly thick mustache now?”

What could be better then some furniture inspired by an 80′s arcade character, who was himself inspired by a few slices taken from a pizza? These padded Pac-Man seats with matching power pellet foot stools are amazingly retro and they look comfy. The Poufman seating sets come in several colors.

The only thing missing are the ghosts. Better yet, I’d like to see this furniture all motorized so that the ghosts can chase you, or you them, so that you play out an actual game. Still, they’re pretty awesome standing still. The price is unknown, but you can be sure they will gobble up dollar bills like Pac-Man gobbled up coins.

Cue 2001 theme, but think “2011: The Year Wii Makes Contact”. 2011 is three years from now. So you would expect a new Wii by then right? HD would be nice on a new console. Word is that they are showing off a Wii-HD to developers and publishers, who’ve nicknamed it “Wii HD”. Reportedly, the followup will stick with all of the motion control goodness and amp up graphics, digital distribution, local storage and even be backwards compatible.

The only hard evidence was cited by What They Play, and that is the fact that Nintendo’s R&D spending has grown greatly since the Wii’s launch. I don’t see that that makes the case for a new Wii by itself, but it’s not a stretch as they are surely looking toward the future of the Wii. Many of us would like to see some improvements now rather then later. Like storage for instance.
