Star Wars Bowling Balls geek up your game |
Jedi can bowl a perfect game every time by using the force, no balls are necessary. But since you haven’t apprenticed under Yoda, you could use some help. These Brunswick Star Wars Viz-a-Ball bowling balls may be just what you need to give your game a boost while simultaneously getting laughed at by those around you.
Or maybe not. You may just be trading a plain gutter ball for a fancy gutter ball. They’ll cost you between $92-$120 each. There’s Yoda, C-3PO, Darth Vader and even a Darth Maul ball. Who knows, before you know it you may be joining the Bespin Bowling League and low-fiving Ugnaughts. (I apologize for that nerd joke and regret that I even know what an Ugnaut is)

Flying in a plane made of paper of any kind sounds dangerous, but ‘buckypaper’ isn’t paper at all, at least not what we’re used to. It’s a new type of carbon nanotube that may usher in a new lightweight, high strength composite. It was discovered accidentally while trying to create the same conditions that exist in a star. Buckypaper isn’t ready for prime-time just yet, but the potential is amazing.
The latest in personal transport promises to make you look ridiculous on your way to work. Focus Design’s SBU electric self-balancing unicycle will also help those circus Clowns who never mastered balance, thereby making it easier to graduate from Clown College.
Everyone knows that Trekkies are big on nuts. And what they have been lacking are some Trek inspired Nutcrackers to go with their
Over at Walyou they’ve compiled a list of 34 geek pumpkins. Some of them are pretty awesome works of art, while others make us realize that nerds have far too much time on their hands. I mean, who the hell thinks to themselves, “Today I’m going to carve Say Anything’s famous boombox scene into a Pumpkin”? Yeah I know. Not a thought I’m familiar with. Surely it’s the product of a demented mind. Anyway hit the link to check them all out.
About a year ago, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin announced that he would one day like to be able to pinpoint the location of his black Labrador, Koni, at any time using a Russian satellite navigation system known as GLONASS.

Pyocotan has a great idea with their “Noriko-san”, a mask that’s designed for napping commuters. But it has one big drawback. It relies on the kindness of other humans around you. The idea is this: If you’ve got a long commute on a train, you are probably tired and want to nap. But you don’t want to miss your stop and be late for work. It blocks light and lets you rest, with a display in front that shows what stop you plan on getting off at.
Web cams have just gone all view-master on us. The Minoru looks like a super-cute Japanese robot and is designed to deliver the Internet experience in 3D. The stereo webcam uses two lenses to form one image that appears three-dimensional…when the viewer wears a pair of 3D glasses. When are we gonna get beyond these nerd glasses?
These USB bunnies are cute. But you know bunnies. They want to multiply. They hump like, well, like bunnies. And if there are no other USB bunnies in your home, it will gladly do the nasty with your USB ports. Because bunnies are crazy. They can’t stop.
No one can deny that Apple’s iTunes store is seriously popular. The store is the single largest music retailer and has one of the largest collections of music available. The App store is wildly popular and the iTunes movie rental, sale, and TV show market is booming. It seems that Apple can’t do wrong with iTunes.
The GPU has come of age and is no longer something that titillates hoards of gamers with promises of better video game graphics alone. Today the GPU can do many things from being used as a super computing platform to greatly accelerating many applications more efficiently than a CPU can.
Anyone who plays with their Wii a lot knows that the batteries go dead way faster than you want them too. Plus, it’s not all that nice looking to have four Wii remotes lying in a pile on your entertainment center or coffee table. MeWe has a new device that not only keeps the remotes powered up, but also gives a neat place to store them.
I work in front of a computer about 12 hours a day five days a week and then I typically end up in front of one on the weekend for important activities like fragging some noobs in Call of Duty. Many times per week, I end up with headaches from the screen glare from my monitor or watery eyes. I have often wanted a pair of computer glasses to reduce the glare from my computer, but have never found them in local stores.
