Zoom lens mug for caffeinated photographersSo photography is your obsession and so is caffeine. If it weren’t for the sky-high cost of your camera lenses, you would have combined the two long ago. Well, my picture taking paparazzi friends, your dreams can now be realized with this awesome and at the same time nerdy mug made out of a zoom lens.

It appears to be a concept, but I’m sure it will be for sale soon, since it’s pretty awesome and different. Just imagine all the fat nerds that will be sipping from this as they stakeout celebrities. It probably needs a lid for when you encounter the unexpected Britney Spears crotch shot. Many a coffee has been lost to her hot-pocket.

Flickr bikes coming to a city near you

Posted in Yahoo by Conner Flynn on September 16th, 2008

Flickr bikes coming to a city near youThis is one of a small fleet of GPS and cameraphone equipped bicycles that Flickr has deployed in select cities around the world. It’s purple, solar powered, pedal powered, GPS powered and it probably needs a little basket with a bow to complete the girl’s bike look. The bikes have handlebar-mounted cameraphones (Nokia N95s, based on the metadata in the Flickr photos) that will snap a shot every 60 seconds while the bike is in motion. Then the photos get uploaded with the geodata, to a special Flickr account.

I have no idea what the purpose is, other then publicity. I suppose they could partner with Nokia etc and start selling these bikes. They are likely to be a nice collectible in a few years, so if you have one keep it safe. And try not to get into too much trouble snapping pics of drug dealers and uploading them.

You make your move. And just like that you’re dead and the future is safe. Except for that microchip you hid away for a rainy day. Oops. Sequel time.

All because you had to had to place the minimum bid of $19,999.00.

HTC Touch Diamond Comes In White

HTC Touch Diamond Comes In WhiteThe HTC Touch Diamond just got a new color, and it will be available in white. That’s right. The most boring device color known to man. The eternal white limbo that the Wii is damned to walk the Earth wearing. The new color will be available on store shelves this October, but other than the color change, everything beneath the hood is the same. Will it remain white or is the quality such that it will turn yellow after a few years? I have no idea, but I’m sure most of you want neither white nor yellow. Colorware to the rescue!

Tokyoflash’s negative watch accentuates the positiveDespite the name Tokyoflash’s Negative watch is amazing as usual and for once it’s a breeze to read the time. The watch features a reverse LCD display which lets you view the time without pressing any buttons. The Negative watch gets its name from its “always-on” inverse LCD display which uses oversize black dot-matrix pixels to reveal the time, day or date.

Another feature is a multi-color LED backlight, which lets you sort between one of seven different colors. If you wanted to, you could have a new color every day. In “frenzy” mode the display will put on a little rave party with a colored light show. If that isn’t enough for you, you can choose from horizontal or vertical display orientations, and youll also get a built-in alarm. Comes in polished silver and polished black stainless steel and retails for about $162.

First pics of 360 and PS3 motion controllerIn2Games, developer of motion sensing gaming technology for the PS3 and Xbox 360, has released the first picture of their 360/PS3 motion controller. The Wii Nunchuck-like Gametrak Freedom is described as, “a remarkable ultrasonic 3D motion sensing technology which delivers performance, control and flexibility far in excess of that offered by existing technologies.”

In other words, they seem to be claiming that it beats a Wii-Mote. The device can be used with the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, and features “proprietary and cutting-edge patent-pending ultrasonic technology to provide a true motion capture gaming experience. Unlike other motion sensing gaming systems, Gametrak Freedom accurately tracks the true 3D position and precise movements of up to four players, anywhere within a given environment, giving total control and unrivaled game play opportunities.” We’ll see what kind of software shows up for this device. For now the only game to make use of the controller is Squeeballs.
