Virgin Mobile adds TNT to pre-paid line

Kyocera TNTFor many people prepaid mobile phones are ideal. This type of phone is great for people who don’t want be stuck in a contract or for those with poor credit. Many parents also use prepaid phones as a way to keep the amount of minutes kids use in check.

Virgin Mobile announced today that it has added a new Kyocera handset to its prepaid line that carries a very low price. The handset is called the TNT and is a clamshell style phone with basic features. The best feature of the TNT is the price — which is only $20.

The TNT handset measures 3.5″ x 1.8″ x 0.6″ and weighs under 3 ounces. The handset has an external screen for displaying caller ID information and comes preloaded with games plus it supports downloadable animated ringtones and Real Music ringtones. Kyocera says the TNT battery will last for up to 200 minutes of talk time and for five days of standby time on a single charge. The phone also has enough storage for 250 contacts.
