Wiimote Controller Pocket is the most useless Wii accessory ever

Posted in Wii Accessories by Conner Flynn on August 26th, 2008

Wiimote Controller Pocket is the most useless Wii accessory everThe Wiimote Controller Pocket is probably the lamest excuse for a Wii accessory we’ve ever seen. This amazing device amounts to little more then a dressed up tissue box that says Wii on it. It’s available in 3 colors and of course the idea is that it can hold your Wiimote and nunchuk. And in it’s off hours, it doubles as a pen holder. At least the product description makes no bones about the fact that it’s lame:

“Anyone can fashion a similar pouch from an empty tissue box, a wonton soup container, a paper bag, or the cardboard box that your GA-KO Alarm Clock arrived in. Sure it won’t look as nice as Hori’s rendition but the functionality is the same and the cardboard box is free.”

With the LCD interface, the time can be read at a glance but it can also be illuminated with sci-fi green LEDs, so that when you touch the button, it resembles a glowing radar screen. So how do you read this one? The outer ring dots are the minutes, every fifth dot being slightly smaller to distinguish five minutes. The ring of large blocks represents rough minutes, the position of the gap indicating approximate minutes. ASUS offers four new perfumed laptopsWhile everyone else is trying to get your dollars by offering various colored laptops or laptops with art prints on them, Asus is taking it one step further by offering a dimension not of sight or sound, but smell. ASUS has a new line of fragrant laptops.

It gets better.(Or worse depending on your perspective) The fragrance will match the graphics, so that as you work the day away, you can trick your nose into thinking you are at the beach or something. It’s aimed more toward female users though, with four special edition laptops. Floral Blossom is pink and flowery, Musky Black sports graffiti art emits a…earthy musk; Morning Dew comes in pastel green and probably doesn’t emit Mountain Dew odor, while Aqua Ocean smells like the sea. Pretty strange. No price yet, but you’ll smell it coming.

Assemble Your Own Pen is too much DIY

Assemble Your Own Pen is too much DIYI thought that buying prepackaged goods was supposed to make life easier, but I guess I was wrong. However those who are completely obsessed with DIY will probably appreciate this and find it fun. The Falter 2D pen makes you work to have your pen and write with it.

The DIY assembly kit even comes with a flat piece of iron that you’ll fold into your pen holder. At $39, you could probably save yourself some trouble and just lift a pen from the next cubicle. Leave 5 bucks if you feel bad you’ll still be better off. Apparently the Falter is handmade in Italy. Just not completed. That’s up to you. Me, I have enough to do already.

Xbox 360 dashboard update in NovemberMicrosoft has confirmed that the Fall Xbox 360 Dashboard Update will be arriving in November. I guess that’s still fall, but it’s pushing the limit. Previous updates have also been released in November so it’s not that unusual, and all the new features might have caused it to be delayed even more, so consider it a good thing that they have announced a date. In the meantime those sick of waiting for their avatars always have the Wii.
