New Nikon flagship Coolpix camera does geo-tagging |

Among the Nikon cameras announced in the last week, the one perhaps standing out the most is this new flagship Coolpix compact camera. It is the Nikon Coolpix P6000 and you’ll be able to pick one up for around $500.
The Nikon Coolpix P6000 is a 13.5-megapixel shooter which offers up “geo-tagging” capabilities via built-in GPS. With this particular function one can note the “location where their images are captured based on latitudinal and longitudinal coordinates.” This can reportedly then be tied into any software or website that recognizes GPS data, including Nikon’s “my Picturetown” service.
Other features of the P6000 include a dedicated Ethernet port, a pop-up flash, optical viewfinder, dedicated command and mode dials and new digital image processing technology. It will be available in September.
